What check-in options are available for Icelandair flights?

In addition to check-in desks and kiosks available at the airport, Icelandair also offers Online & Mobile Check-in.

When and how can I check in at the airport?

Check-in desks are open for check-in 2 to 4 hours before departure. Passengers holding e-tickets must have the printed version of the confirmed itinerary; passengers holding paper tickets need to bring their ticket to the check-in desk. Check-in for Icelandair flights usually closes 45-60 minutes prior to departure.

At the following airports, you can check in at a self-service check-in kiosk located in the departure hall or check-in area:

At Keflavik (KEF), Billund (BLL), and Copenhagen (CPH), you can print the baggage tags at the kiosk there and go to self-service check-in station to drop off your baggage.

Online & Mobile Check-in

Online & Mobile Check-in is available for all Icelandair flights, except for Aberdeen and Belfast, within the following time frames:

  • Flights to Europe and Canada – from 36 hours up to 60 minutes before.
  • Flights to/from the US – from 24 hours up to 60 minutes before.

Mobile Check-in

Mobile Check-in allows you to get your eBoarding Pass, via SMS or email, on your mobile device. If you have more than one flight, an eBoarding Pass will be sent for each flight. You can save your boarding passes directly to your Passbook.

You can choose to pick up your eBoarding Pass at the check-in desk. When departing from North America, Mobile Check-in is available, but you must get your boarding pass from the check-in desk.
