HOP! flying with babies

Are there any age restrictions for babies flying on HOP! flights?

Although there is no age restriction for babies flying on HOP! flights, travel is not recommended for babies in the first 7 days following birth.

How can I travel with my baby on HOP! flights?

Every infant (babies up to 2 years of age) must always travel with a passenger aged at least 18 years. An infant can travel on the lap of the accompanying adult. There is also the possibility to book a separate seat for an infant.

A separate seat is required for the entire journey (both outbound and return flights) when the child will be celebrating his/her second birthday while traveling.

Traveling with Infants

On domestic flights within France, infants travel free of charge when seated on the adult’s lap. On European flights, infants are entitled to a 90% discount when they don’t occupy a separate seat. When a separate seat is reserved for an infant, the child discount applies:

  • 15% – flights within France.
  • 33% – flights within Europe.

The infant’s baggage allowance is always bound to the type of fare purchased by the adult who accompanies the baby:

  • Promo, Basic/Light – hand baggage allowance of 12 kg, but no checked baggage allowance.
  • Basic+, Smart/Standard, Flex, Family – hand baggage allowance of 12 kg, and 1 piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 10 kg.

A stroller and a child car seat are accepted for free as checked baggage. A folding pushchair no larger than 55 x 35 x 25 cm may replace the child’s carry-on bag.
