Well, let me start by saying I booked and had a confirmed 1E booking.
Then received a booking advice for row 11.
Then received a message that instead of a 7a.m departure, it would be 11.40 a.m.
I booked Qantas to get me home.

Plenty of legroom and was able to stretch out. If wanting to look out the window though not easy have to lean forward. But enjoyable and comfortable rude up to Broome from Perth

Originally seated in 10K Bulkhead Window for takeoff but as plane was almost empty I managed to stretch out over four centre seats and with extra blankets & pillows enjoyed a good 7 hours sleep.
Note the missing window is between rows 13 & 14

Hostess was amazing, professional and lovely. I have done hostess training and would love a position with Virgin. My return journey , 20g, no leg room , no reclining however same hostess so happy with service.

I few on Virgin Australia Airbus 330 , seat 27c had ample legroom , only slight recline back. Left on time arrived a little late due to air traffic control , staff pleasant enough, only a orange and small biscuit offered but that was reflected in price of ticket. No entertainment unless you had the Virgin app on your handheld device

It was a 2-3 h flight and compared to Qantas or all other aeroplanes of Virgin Australia, the VA Fokker 100 offers a great amount of legroom. The service was average although the drink selesction was pretty basic. Softdrinks were for a fee and the Food wasn't very tasty. Qantas has a much larger variety of drinks. There are a few screens on the ceiling with advertisement for Entertainment. But overall, it was okay for a couple of hours.

Regular traveller with Air NZ however I decided to fly from Auckland to Perth via Melbourne so I could try out Virgin Aus new Business Class. Checkin staff in Melbourne weren't very friendly- however the airport was busy so I can't blame them. Virgin Lounge was nice and staff were friendly. Aircrew were friendly and the business class design layout was very nice and private. Food was nice and the drinks were plenty. The business class attendant was very professional. I would highly recommend flying virgin again.

Virgin Australia has been promising to upgrade the seating for almost 12 months. Supposed to happen in April (not sure which year). Seats are not all that comfortable, but OK once the foam mattresses are added. The food and service were outstanding.

I prefer VA J class over QF. The seats are becoming dated but the decor, food and service is just that half star better than QANTAS.
