JetBlue Airways check-in

How can I check in when traveling with JetBlue Airways?

JetBlue Airways passengers may use one of the following options for checking-in:

  • Online Check-in.
  • Remote Check-in.
  • Mobile Check-in.
  • Curbside Check-in – JFK only.
  • Kiosk Check-in – domestic flights only.
  • Ticket Counter Check-in.

When must I check in when traveling with JetBlue Airways?

For domestic flights, the check-in deadline is 30 minutes before scheduled departure.

For international flights, all passengers have to check in at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure.

Online Check-in

You may check in online starting 24 hours, but no later than the check-in deadline of your flight. Online Check-in is available only if you have a confirmed reservation. Online Check-in is not available for passengers who need to check in at the Full Service counter (who have requested additional assistance upon check-in, who have purchased an extra seat, Unaccompanied Minors, traveling on a group reservation of 10 or more passengers, etc.).

To start Online Check-in, you must enter your first and last name, departure city, and confirmation code or flight number. TrueBlue members do not necessarily need the confirmation code or flight number and may use their TrueBlue number. During the Online Check-in process, you have the options to assign/change seats (if there are no seats available to select when checking-in, this means that the only seats left must be assigned at the airport) and to check baggage and pay additional baggage fees for up to 9 bags per passenger (you will be prompted to enter the number of checked bags for each passenger; your bag tag numbers will appear on the boarding pass; at the airport, go to the designated bag drop location where a JetBlue crewmember will print your bag tags).

You may print your boarding pass before arriving at the airport, you can use the JetBlue mobile app to get a mobile boarding pass, or you can use the reprint option at a self-service kiosk.

Remote Check-in

JetBlue’s partnership with BAGS Inc., a dedicated airline service company, allows passengers to check in at hotels, convention centers, parking or rental car areas, and cruise ships piers in a growing number of cities. At least 2 hours prior to your flight, you can check in and drop your bags at a JetBlue Remote Check-in location. The service charge ranges from $0 to $20, depending on location. Onboard cruise ship check-in is an expansion of the Remote Check-in Program, and JetBlue is currently serving Orlando International Airport – MCO (Port Canaveral), Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport – FLL (Port Everglades and Port of Miami) and San Diego International Airport – SAN (Port of San Diego).

Mobile Check-in

Mobile Check-in is available either by accessing JetBlue Airways mobile site, mobile.jetblue.com, or using the JetBlue mobile app for smartphone (Android, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch). You can check in from your mobile device within 24 hours before the flight.

Mobile Check-in allows you to get a Mobile Boarding Pass, an encrypted two-dimensional barcode which contains customer and flight information for the TSA security officers to scan. Mobile Boarding Passes can be used at all U.S. domestic airports and select international airports.

Only one boarding pass per smartphone is accepted. If you cannot use your Mobile Boarding Pass, you can reprint your boarding pass at a kiosk or see a JetBlue crewmember for assistance.

Curbside Check-in

Curbside Check-in allows passengers to drop their checked baggage before entering the New York JFK International Airport and bypass the ticket counter. Curbside Check-in is available during the airport’s hours of operation. There is no fee for checking-in without baggage. However, there is a $3 fee per bag when you check your baggage at the curbside. This fee and all excess baggage fees cannot be paid in cash. Only credit/debit cards are accepted at the curb (tipping is optional, but appreciated).
