Air Tahiti Nui minors flying alone

Does Air Tahiti Nui offer assistance to children traveling alone?

For children traveling alone, Air Tahiti Nui offers assistance, the Tiare Kids service, depending on their age and destination. Air Tahiti Nui offers the Unaccompanied Minors service on its operated flights only. Air Tahiti Nui does not offer the Tiare Kids service when there is a connecting flight.

For whom does Air Tahiti Nui offer the Tiare Kids service?

It is mandatory that children aged 5 to 11 years (inclusive) traveling alone to be booked as Unaccompanied Minors.

The Tiare Kids service is also offered for children aged 12 and 13 years on all flights operated by Air Tahiti Nui and for children aged 12 to 17 years old (inclusive) on flights to/from Paris.

In both cases, Air Tahiti Nui must be informed that the child will travel as an Unaccompanied Minor at the time of booking. The minimum check-in time for Unaccompanied Minors is at least 3 hours before departure. Before leaving the airport, you are required to wait 30 minutes after the flight departure.

At check-in, a Tiare Kids personal pocket will be given to the Unaccompanied Minor for documents necessary for his/her journey. On flights to/from Paris, Air Tahiti Nui staff will provide continuous supervision to the Unaccompanied Minor during the stopover in Los Angeles.

Upon arrival, the Unaccompanied Minor will disembark after the other passengers and will be accompanied by Air Tahiti Nui ground staff through the arrivals process and baggage collection before being handed over to the person designated for pick-up, whose identity will be verified with an ID card.
