Avoid. There is a large box under seat 34a which takes up half the legroom for seat 35a. Maybe the black box recorder, in which case 34a would be a safe bet?

My husband was unable to eat his hot meal as there was not much room to manoeuvre when the tray table was down and the passenger in front had their seat reclined.

He felt it was the smallest seat area he had ever had on an international flight.

Aisle seat that had a metal box under the seat in front so you do not have much legroom.

Pre ordered the vegan hot meal which was burnt and dry (pasta).

I had a very large person sitting next to me so felt very cramped, almost claustrophobic. After take off I moved to the back row which was empty. I would recommend back couple of rows as you get off first. Wouldn't want to be on this plane for more than an hour. Service was ok, water, coffee etc. for a short flight.

FromDublin - Dublin (DUB)
ToChicago - Chicago Ohare Intl (ORD)
This seat (EI-GCF) was 100% better than the seat on Config 2 (EI-EIL and EI-EIK). The IFE is the World class IFE I remember from 2016. Touch screen excellent, headphone jack and USB port right up front, more power under seat. An almost endless selection of movies, and you can look through what they have on your flight on the Aer Lingus Play app.

Seat was comfortable. Like most any seat, if you sit too long it gets uncomfortable, but I was able to fall asleep during the movie, so it's not half bad. It could be wider for me, but since my son sat next to me, I didn't stick too much out in to the aisle.

If I am correct in my thinking, this is the configuration for the two planes they purchased from Qatar Airways last year. Only had two issues.

First, the on-ground air wasn't working, like Chicago didn't have it set up for them at the gate they were at? Once in the air it got cool, but we were frying on the tarmac.

Second, the IFE was horrible. They had the old school two prong headphone jack, and it was poking out of the side of the armrest, so not only did I have to jiggle it just right to get one side of my earbuds to work, all it would take was for me to move a millimeter and it would cut out. The screen was hard to see from dead on, which at least meant most people won't be able to see what you are watching. And they aren't touch screens, they are controlled by the remote in your armrest. Which, when you get it out to change stuff, also makes the headphones cut out. Get tired of that and use the provided headphones? They sound so horrible, you will run back to what you had in the first place, as it's better.

Otherwise, seat was good. I did briefly get to sleep, but my daughter woke me up asking my son if he wanted some candy. Food was good, for airline food catered at O'Hare. Actually maybe better than my flight last year with another airline's Dreamliner.

I'm flying back in a couple days. Here's hoping I don't get stuck on one of these two again.

FromManchester
ToBridgetown - Grantley Adams International (BGI)
We paid for extra leg room for this long haul flight. However, my husbands seat 8A was not extra leg room. This was due to the seat being near the main door which restricted his leg room. Please avoid the mistake we made with these seats.
