ANA Junior Pilot Service

If you want to request ANA Junior Pilot for international flights, reservation is required via telephone (you cannot apply for this service online). For domestic flights, registration for the ANA Junior Pilot service can be done online, under the Reservation menu, if the ticket was purchased via the ANA website.

After completing the booking, you must download, print and complete the “Consent and Release Form” to fill in the required information in advance and bring it with you to the airport. This will save time on the day of departure. The parent or guardian will need to complete the Consent and Release Form and submit it upon check-in at the airport on the day of departure.

After arriving at the airport well in advance, you should proceed to the ANA check-in counter (for domestic flights – the counter for customers requiring special assistance). Self-check-in machines cannot be used for Unaccompanied Minors. Unaccompanied Minors should be checked in at least 2 hours before departure for international flights, 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights. ANA recommends checking in earlier during the winter and summer holidays when airports are especially crowded.

The ground staff will hand the child an ANA Junior Pilot holder. For international flights, once preparation for departure is complete, the staff will escort the child from the airport counter to the cabin. Relatives will be able to accompany the child up to the security checkpoint. For domestic flights, you must accompany the child to the boarding gate (only one person is allowed to attend for security reasons), and ANA staff will escort the child to the cabin.

The unaccompanied child may not be allowed to board the aircraft if there is an indication that the flight may not operate as scheduled due to the weather conditions, etc. Minors using the ANA Junior Pilot service will not be seated near emergency exits. ANA original goods for kids are available during the flights, but quantities are limited.

Upon arrival, the child must remain seated until he/she is escorted by the cabin crew to the arrival lobby. The person who is picking up the child must present his/her identification card and sign the release form.

If the child has a connecting flight operated by another airline, you must check the conditions for acceptance ahead of time with the operating carrier. ANA staff will gladly assist children with connecting flights, but an adult must meet and accompany the child at the transit point when connecting to a flight operated by another company.

Fares

Child fares are not applicable for children traveling as Unaccompanied Minors on flights departing from Japan; the adult fare will apply. For flights departing from a country other than Japan, the applicable fares may vary by origin country.
